This last January, the construction of the ACE Africa Center in Bungoma, Kenya was completed. Located in the Western Province of Kenya, the center will be used to for ICT training (information, communications, & technology), HIV testing and counseling, and will host a library and information resource center. The one-story building also features a conference room and four offices to be used by staff members. This is the second building CfC has built in Kenya, the first being the
ACE Africa strives to make a sustainable, realistic and effective difference in the lives of Africans by providing education, literacy skills and training to African children and youths. It was established in collaboration with the Government of Kenya in 2003 by the three founders – Joanna Waddington, Augustine Wasonga and Anthony Okoti to address the lack of community infrastructure and skills to support the increasing number of orphans and vulnerable children in highly HIV affected and resource poor communities in Western Kenya.
