Organizational Overview I Love Baseball

The vision of COTN's I Love Baseball® (ILB) program is to give Dominican youth a place where they can pursue their dream of playing professional baseball while still getting an education, living a balanced life socially, building strong moral character, growing mentally, physically, and spiritually.

Project Impact:

As a permanent field, the I Love Baseball program will impact the lives of thousands of Dominican boys in the years to come. Annually this facility will directly impact over 250 players through a varsity program and little-league programs in 6 communities including leadership development with junior coaches. Through the plan to host summer camps for the southern region of the country, the impact expands to hundreds more each year.

This baseball field will serve the needs of the Barahona community by creating opportunities for young men to avoid a life of poverty while still pursuing their dreams. It will mean more young men with high school and college degrees in Barahona, less crime, less gang activity, and healthier, working families contributing to their community.

Construction Project:

CfC joined ILB for pre construction and project assessment, and design. The goal of this project was to move the current program’s daily practice to the new property. It included the following:

  • Baseball field
  • Home/visitor dugouts
  • Restrooms
  • Office and kitchen
  • Foundation of the grandstands including the first 3 seating rows from left to right
