TITLE: Social Media Intern

About

Construction for Change seeks a part-time social media intern. This individual will work closely with the Executive Director to develop and implement a social media strategy during the first half of the year. This strategy will focus heavily on engaging CfC in national conversations around global development, and local conversations around social and economic justice, across the Facebook, Twitter and Instagram platforms. This person is also responsible for researching and identifying thought leaders, trending topics, and other relevant content. They will be responsible for maintaining accounts and growing community, followers and likes.

 

Learning goals include, but are not limited to:

• Create & implement an effective social media marketing strategy
• Segmenting audiences & understanding motivations
• Understanding the trends and applications of each separate social channel
• Using social media to tap into new audiences

 

Responsibilities

Reports to: Executive Director

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Facebook
• Twitter
• Instagram

o Procure CfC content for sharing
o Promote CfC events & opportunities
o Engage in two-way conversation with orgs and followers on FB
o Monitor CfC account to ensure timely follow up on outreach
o Use CfC account to follow and engage in conversations relevant to CfC work
o Procure CfC content for sharing as appropriate
o Post CfC images on a regular basis
o Identify best practices, hashtags, etc. to increase follower base
o Comment on other Instagram accounts/photos as appropriate

 

Skills Preferred/Experience

• Multi-tasker
• Creative thinker, outgoing personality (at least on the www), fearless go-getter
• Curious-minded
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Passion for and/or interest in global development
• Passion for and/or interest in nonprofit industry (local)
• Graphic design experience a plus

TITLE: 30/30 Project Fundraising & Communications Intern

About

Construction for Change seeks a part-time fundraising & communications intern. This individual will work closely with the Director of the 30/30 Project to refine and implement the fundraising & communications strategy. This strategy will focus heavily on social media, blog content, website maintenance & development, and event planning. This person is also responsible for researching and identifying opportunities for editorial/opinion pieces, public speaking engagements and any other integrated marketing opportunities that may enhance and market the 30/30 Project.

 

Learning goals include, but are not limited to:

  • Create & implement an effective fundraising strategy
  • Event planning
  • Supporter/partner acquisition
  • Consistent branding
  • Using social media as a tool for expanding awareness & support
  • Effective & persuasive writing for the 21st century nonprofit professional, including blogs, website content, newsletters & annual reports

 

Responsibilities

Reports to: Director, 30/30 Project

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Write and design written communications (e.g. invitations, blog posts)
  • Strategically manage and utilize all 30/30 Project social media outlets (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)
  • Contribute to the Fall and Winter Quarter CfC newsletter
  • Provide public relations support to the 30/30 Project
  • Attend events and speaking opportunities as a representative of 30/30 Project
  • Provide any additional administrative support to the 30/30 Project as needed

 

Skills Preferred/Experience

  • Professional PR/marketing, public relations, and advertising experience or related educational focus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Connections with local and national media, printers, graphic designers, etc.
  • Experience with graphic design and editorial processes
  • Outgoing personality, fearless go-getter
  • Curious and a creative thinker
