MED 25 International Clinic - Project 2
Location: Mbita, Kenya
Status: In progress
Type: Phase 2: Clinic
People Impacted: 118,000
Project Manager: Rosie Leake
The health center that we build in 2014 for Med25 is thriving but they are turning away over 150 patients a month who need in-patient services. Adding a new ward will not only serve the community in a new an unique way, it will qualify Med25 to enter the national health insurance program, which will provide the funding needed to operate the new ward. This health center is serving a community of 118,000 people in the Mbita District of Kenya.
Why: The Mbita District currently ranks as Kenya’s highest in infant mortality and HIV/AIDS prevalence.
Broke ground on this new project summer of 2018.
