Travel with Construction for Change

Are you an energized philanthropist looking to connect with organizations operating abroad and to bring their communities much-needed access to critical resources. Are you a construction professional who is interested in traveling with CfC, but you can’t make a 3-6 month commitment? Or maybe you aren’t in the construction industry at all, but you have a background in public health, education or community development and would like to travel with CfC.  If any of these descriptions hits a cord with you, read on.

Monitoring & Evaluation

4H

M&E stands for monitoring and evaluation.  We have built twelve facilities on four continents since 2007.  To ensure our facilities continue to make a local impact, we revisit these projects every few years to report on the building’s performance.  For example, if we visit a school we built four years ago, we want to know – How is the building holding up? Is it at capacity today? How are students performing?  Have graduation rates increased?  We strive to be accountable to our supporters – reporting on past projects first-hand allows us to do just that.

Pre-Construction

Pre-construction

During the pre-construction phase, there is a clear advantage to sending CfC representatives with construction backgrounds to the future project site.  CfC representatives research material costs and availability, labor costs and availability (minimum wage, etc.), and other important details (i.e. where our Project Managers will stay, transportation, community support, etc.)   As the official CfC ambassador, you gather crucial information needed to ensure a successful project. Engaged Philanthropy

Each year, we travel to past, current, and future project sites with a group of CfC supporters who are ready to take their commitment to the next level.  In this photograph a CfC Engaged Philanthropist learns how the construction team in Kangundo, Kenya gets the job done. To learn more about these trips, click here.
