Pallet Shelter
Pallet Shelter
Need & Opportunity
Unsheltered homelessness is a traumatic experience and a matter of life and death. Solutions must include rapid builds to save lives at scale now. The faster people are moved off the street and into transitional housing, the earlier their path to stability can begin. Pallet Shelter is a social purpose company working to end unsheltered homelessness and give people a second chance at employment. Pallet shelters combine temporary housing solutions with 24/7 case management from a local service provider.
Solution & Value Add
Working alongside Pallet, CfC was in charge of recruiting volunteers, training and deploying onsite project managers for each rapid build installation. Every single shelter was capable of being assembled in under an hour, while shelter villages require additional human resources.
Led by Shannon Benya McIntyre, Director of Operations, and joined by Deployment Manager Carolyn McGunagle, CfC completed sheltering units in eight different cities across the country to provide safe temporary housing.
CfC contributed to more than 400 users' safety annually through its partnership with Pallet and the building of dignified housing units.
